About Me

I am a passionate truth seeker dedicated to fostering collective consciousness through social impact technology and communications that challenges systems of oppression.

I was a former Raleigh City Council candidate and made history as the youngest woman of color and first Muslim to run for mayor in the South. My professional experience includes serving as a Member Operations Specialist at ONE, a financial wellness platform, and mobilizing youth with the Poor People’s Campaign (PPC).

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from NC State and a Master’s in Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. I was also featured in America Inside Out, a National Geographic documentary with Katie Couric.

I am a:

Disruptor: I take uncomfortable and risky actions to shake up the status quo, to raise awareness, and to build power.

Experimenter: I innovate, pioneer, and invent. I take risks and course-correct as needed.

Healer: I recognize and tend to the generational and current traumas caused by oppressive systems, institutions, policies, and practices.

Builder: I develop, organize, and implement ideas, practices, people, and resources in service of a collective vision.
